Writer of the movie, Tina Fey, is in the process of turning the ever-adored cult classic, Mean Girls, into a musical.
Amanda Seyfried, who originally acted the role of Karen Smith in Mean Girls, played an unintelligent sidekick to the movies antagonist IT girl, Regina George (Rachel McAdams). However, now that it's going the musical route, and Seyfried has clearly shown us her wonderful ability to sing (Mama Mia! Les Miserables, etc.) she is hoping to snag the role of Regina.
